Safer, the Bailiwick’s charity supporting victims of domestic abuse, is expanding its team, and is seeking expressions of interest from anyone wanting to work in this interesting and rewarding area, in the role of: –
OUTREACH WORKER (FT)
The outreach worker will work with victims of domestic abuse to identify and assess risks posed to them, develop safety and support plans looking at the individuals needs and building on their strengths to facilitate their journey to recovery. Group work and training as well as 1:1 work will be part of the role. A number of weeks of training, potentially off Island, will be required for anyone who does not hold the relevant qualification.
TRAINEE (FT)
The trainee will work across all 4 Safer services – IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisors), KIDVA’s (Children & young people’s Independent Domestic Violence Advisors), Outreach and Refuge teams. They will shadow staff in these roles to gain knowledge and some experience in this field of work. They will not carry a caseload but will be expected to assist staff in these roles, be willing to interact with our service users and other professionals and be hands-on.
